Japan 100 Guide is an editorial journal and ongoing cultural catalog dedicated to exploring the quiet ingenuity, authentic tastes, and thoughtful designs that define modern everyday life in Japan.
Our Philosophy: Beauty in the Details
While traditional guidebooks focus on ancient shrines, mountain vistas, and Michelin-starred dining, true contemporary Japanese culture thrives in smaller, often unnoticed rituals: the featherlight smoothness of a ¥150 ballpoint pen, the space-saving brilliance of triple-length paper rolls, the seasonal warmth of kinmokusei (osmanthus) in autumn air, and the modernist geometry of mid-century cathedral architecture.
The Sinsira Edit
Originally founded as a personal observation notebook by Soichi Shiraki (sinsira), this digital magazine documents 100 distinct cultural moments, functional objects, and architectural spaces. Every entry is experienced first-hand, photographed on-site, and articulated with care.
